The Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini established on Feb. 5, 1999, under Law 164 of 1992 and Ministerial Decree 256 of 1997, now has nearly 400 direct members divided between winegrowers, winemakers and bottlers and more than 2,000 winegrowers who are part of the consortium’s winegrower cooperatives.

Ten thousand hectares planted with vines, seven thousand nine hundred winemaking entrepreneurs, about one hundred bottling companies for more than one million hectoliters of wine produced, three designations of origin and one geographical indication for more than sixty types of wines are the salient features of the Sannio vineyard, which assigns the Benevento province the leadership in the Campania wine sector.
